True raw-spread ECN pricing with transparent commissions. We measured all-in costs across the leading ECN brokers to find the cheapest genuine options.
The brokers below are ranked based on regulation, pricing, account structure, market range, overall usability, and platform quality. No broker is best for everyone, but each broker on this list offers a clear advantage for a specific type of Forex or CFD trader. Updated in August, 2026.

| Question | Answer |
|---|---|
| What makes a broker genuinely ECN? | Orders are passed to a pool of liquidity providers rather than filled by the broker taking the other side. The tell is the pricing model: raw variable spreads that occasionally touch zero, plus a separate visible commission. A fixed spread with no commission is not ECN. |
| How do I compare ECN costs properly? | Add the average spread and the round-turn commission into a single per-lot figure. A 0.1 pip spread with a $7 round-turn commission costs more than a 0.6 pip spread with a $3 commission on EUR/USD. |
| Is ECN always cheaper? | Not below a certain trade frequency. The commission is fixed per lot regardless of size, so for small or infrequent positions a commission-free account with a slightly wider spread often works out cheaper. |
| Why did my ECN spread widen so much during the news? | Raw spreads reflect real liquidity, and liquidity thins out around scheduled releases. That widening is the honest price. Brokers advertising fixed spreads through news are absorbing the risk and charging for it elsewhere. |
