AMA Holds Rate for Eighth Meeting, Runoff Starts Oct 1

The Atlantic Monetary Authority's Monetary Policy Board left its benchmark rate unchanged, marking an eighth consecutive meeting without a change. The nine-member board voted unanimously. The AMA published its statement at 12:00 UTC.

The AMA will begin reducing its asset portfolio from 1 October 2026. Deputy Governor Piotr Lindqvist said the runoff carries no target portfolio level. Lindqvist said the pace will be reviewed every six months.

Economic Backdrop

Atlantia's economy grew 0.3% quarter-on-quarter in the second quarter of 2026. Unemployment stood at 4.1% in the same quarter. Inflation eased to 2.4% in August 2026 from 2.7% in July 2026.

Market Reaction

The Atlantian mark traded at 1.083 before the statement. The currency was little changed after the announcement.
