The package has three parts: a pause on existing debt, new lending to repair homes and revive businesses, and faster insurance claims handling.

Debt pause

Retail customers with remaining principal of no more than 2 million baht and SME customers with term loans and remaining principal of no more than 20 million baht can apply for relief.

For severe damage, where customers cannot live in or operate their businesses, both principal and profit can be suspended for up to three months. For partial damage, where they can still live in or operate, only principal is suspended for up to six months and profit remains payable.

Repayment terms can be extended by no more than the period of the suspension, and late charges arising from missed payments during the suspension are waived.

New funding

The home repair and recovery loan for retail customers carries a maximum of 1 million baht and can run for up to 20 years.

Its first-year profit rate is 1.99% a year. In years two and three, it is SPRL minus 3.50% a year. From year four, it is SPRL minus 1.50% a year.

The SME recovery loan offers up to 5 million baht and a maximum term of five years.

Its first-year profit rate is 3.25% a year. In years two and three, it is SPRL minus 1.00% a year. From year four, it is SPRL, currently 7.68% a year.

Insurance claims

For existing customers with fire insurance policies covering natural disasters, the bank will speed up claims coordination on an urgent basis so customers can receive compensation and repair assets sooner.

Customers can apply at any Islamic Bank of Thailand branch, via ibank Contact Center 1302, Messenger at Islamic Bank of Thailand – ibank (@ibank.th), or Line iBank 4 all (@ibank).
