Mexico

GAP said its 12 Mexican airports recorded a 6.7% decline in total passenger traffic in September. It said Tijuana fell 12.1%, Puerto Vallarta 10.4% and Los Cabos 7.5%.

The company said the drop was mainly due to lower seat capacity from airlines, especially in the domestic market. It also said adverse weather associated with Hurricane Polo affected the Mexican Pacific region and Baja California Sur late in the month, partially affecting operations at Puerto Vallarta and Los Cabos.

GAP said the main domestic routes with declines were Puerto Vallarta-Tijuana, Puerto Vallarta-Monterrey, Los Cabos-Guadalajara and Tijuana-Guadalajara. It said the largest international declines were on Los Cabos routes to Dallas-Fort Worth, Los Angeles and Phoenix, and on Puerto Vallarta routes to San Francisco and Phoenix.

Jamaica

In Jamaica, passenger traffic at Montego Bay Airport decreased 16.6% from a year earlier, GAP said. Kingston Airport traffic fell 3.8%.
