Goodfellow Q3 earnings fall to $2.3 million as sales rise

Goodfellow reported third-quarter net earnings of $2.3 million and declared a $0.10-a-share dividend payable November 3, 2026.

Quarterly results

Goodfellow said third-quarter net earnings were $2.3 million, or $0.27 per share, for the three months ended August 31, 2026. That compared with net earnings of $3.7 million, or $0.45 per share, a year earlier.

Consolidated sales were $145.7 million, up from $141.9 million last year.

Nine-month results

For the nine months ended August 31, 2026, the company reported net earnings of $1.2 million, or $0.14 per share. That was down from $3.9 million, or $0.47 per share, a year earlier.

Consolidated sales for the period were $397.1 million, compared with $406.0 million last year.

Operating backdrop

Goodfellow said performance reflected mixed conditions across Canada’s lumber and building materials sector at the close of the quarter.

It said uncertainty around trade policies weighed on residential construction activity and consumer confidence in some regions. Demand remained relatively stable in select commercial, industrial and infrastructure-related markets.

Dividend

The board declared an eligible dividend of $0.10 per share. It is payable on November 3, 2026, to shareholders of record at the close of business on October 20, 2026.

The company said the dividend is designated as eligible under the Income Tax Act (Canada). It said the declaration, timing, amount and payment of future dividends remain at the discretion of the board.
