Carbon Streaming ने US$6 million में Community Carbon Stream बेचा
Carbon Streaming ने Community Carbon और UpEnergy Group के साथ समझौता किया, जिसके तहत उसे US$6.0 million मिलेंगे और stream समाप्त होगा.

Carbon Streaming Corporation ने Community Carbon और UpEnergy Group के साथ समझौता किया है। इसके तहत कंपनी को US$6.0 million का total consideration मिलेगा।
इस रकम में US$2.35 million कंपनी की ओर से कुछ CORSIA-tagged Tanzanian cookstove carbon credits की बिक्री से आए हैं। US$1.47 million UPE Parties की ऐसी ही बिक्री से आएंगे, जिन्हें escrow में जमा कर कंपनी को दिया जाएगा। बाकी US$2.18 million भी UPE Parties escrow में जमा करेंगे और कंपनी को भुगतान होगा।
कंपनी के मुताबिक अब तक उसे US$2.35 million मिल चुके हैं। शेष US$3.65 million escrow account से दिए जाने हैं। Transaction के fully close होने और full US$6.0 million मिलने की उम्मीद कंपनी ने ten business days के भीतर जताई है, बशर्ते closing conditions पूरी हों।
Escrowed funds जारी होने के बाद कंपनी Community Carbon Stream के तहत बचा हुआ carbon credits inventory ट्रांसफर करेगी। इसके बाद stream समाप्त होगी और पक्ष एक-दूसरे को future obligations से mutual releases देंगे।

CEO Marin Katusa ने कहा, “The previously announced transaction with UPE failed due to a financing by UPE not closing. The Company continued to work with the management from UPE and together we created a more complicated, but ultimately better transaction for the Company for two reasons. The first being the Company receives the full US$6 million upfront rather than over 12 months in the previously announced transaction. The second being elimination of all financing and credit pricing risk for the Company. The current carbon credit market continues to be challenging. For example, CORSIA-tagged credits have been liquid and selling for above US$8 per credit, while non-CORSIA-tagged credits in the portfolio have seen limited to no buyer interest over the last 12 months. This Agreement monetizes the current value of the Community Carbon Stream and the inventory of carbon credits by selling for a total consideration of US$6.0 million and receiving the entire amount upfront.”

While certain defendants have filed counterclaims, we believe these to be without merit and have filed a defence to these counterclaims to vigorously defend our position.”
