The exercise was opened by the Economic Secretary to the Treasury and hosted by the London Stock Exchange Group. It brought firms and financial authorities together in a crisis-management drill.

Respondents

CMORG is chaired by the Bank of England and UK Finance. HM Treasury, the Financial Conduct Authority and the wider financial sector also took part.

The exercise involved 38 of the largest and most systemically important banks and market infrastructure operators.

Effective

The exercise was completed yesterday, 8 October 2026. The Bank said firms now expect to take action based on the exercise to strengthen resilience and response to severe operational and cyber scenarios.
