Thailand’s Islamic Bank, iBank, will host an international academic forum on Wednesday, Oct. 14, 2026, at The Westin Grande Sukhumvit Bangkok. The event is an affiliated program for Thailand’s 2026 IMF and World Bank Group annual meetings.

The forum is titled “Islamic Finance: From Crisis Resilience to Transition Finance.” iBank says the discussion will focus on strengthening the economy, transition financing and international cooperation.

Speakers and programme

The event will include keynote remarks from Arun Boonchom, the Sheikhul Islam of Thailand, and H.E. Dr. Muhammad Sulaiman Al Jasser, chairman of the Islamic Development Bank Group. iBank says the forum will bring together speakers from Indonesia, Malaysia and Thailand from financial and academic institutions.

The programme is expected to cover how Islamic finance can respond to changing economic needs, raise funds for sustainable investment and support broader cooperation across sectors and countries.
